How it works: from your enquiry to a fixed quote
Three steps, one point of contact. Solar Stash takes the enquiry and books the survey; a local MCS-certified installer surveys, quotes and installs. Free, and no obligation at any point.
What happens after you press send
Step 1: You fill in the form or call
Five quick questions: home or business, property type, what you are after, postcode, how to reach you. Or ring 07442 511817. Either way the next step is a human calling you back, not a sales appointment.
Step 2: We call back and book your free survey
We call back within one working day, usually the same working day. We ask about your roof, your bills and who is home in the day, say honestly whether solar suits the house, and book a survey with a local MCS-certified installer at a time that suits you.
Step 3: The installer surveys and gives a fixed quote
Half an hour to an hour at your home: the roof, the loft, the consumer unit, where a battery would go. A written quote follows, fixed and itemised, with the installer named and its MCS number on it. No obligation.
Installation, handover and who to call
The part most quotes skip. Here is what the weeks after a yes look like, and who does what.
Timing matters more than usual this year: 0% VAT ends on 31 March 2027 and the rate follows the invoice date.
- Installation
- Usually one day, two with a battery and a new consumer unit. Scaffolding goes up a day or two before and comes down a few days after. The installer who surveyed is the installer who fits.
- Commissioning and the MCS certificate
- The system is tested, registered and the MCS certificate issued by the installer. That certificate is what your export tariff and home insurer ask for.
- Handover
- The monitoring app on your phone, how the battery is set up, and the warranties registered in your name. The export tariff application is explained so you can claim what you are owed.
- Afterwards
- One number: 07442 511817. For a warranty question, a tariff question or a fault, we chase the installer so you do not have to.
What helps on the first call
- A recent electricity bill, or your annual usage in kWh from your supplier app
- Who is home in the day and when the big loads run (washing, cooking, car charging)
- Whether you already have solar panels, and if so roughly when they were fitted
- Anything you know about the roof: age, material, any shading from trees or chimneys
- Where a battery could go: garage, utility room, an outside wall
None of it is essential. The survey covers all of it in person. See what we fit: solar panels and a battery or a battery for existing solar.
