Who we are

This website is operated by Alex Farrell, trading as Solar Stash, 27 King Street, Leeds, LS1 2HL. By using the site you agree to these terms.

What we do

Solar Stash takes enquiries from homeowners in Leeds and West Yorkshire, checks whether a home is likely to suit solar panels or a battery, and books a free home survey with a local MCS-certified installer. We do not survey, design, supply or install systems ourselves. The installer surveys your home, gives you a written quote and, if you go ahead, carries out the installation.

Your contract is with the installer

The quote you receive after the survey is the installer’s quote, and if you accept it your installation contract is with that installer, not with Solar Stash. The quote names the installer and its MCS certificate number so you can check it on the MCS register before you pay anything. Product warranties are provided by the manufacturers on the terms they publish. We stay your point of contact and will chase the installer on your behalf, but we are not a party to the installation contract.

Savings figures and the calculator

Every savings figure on this site is an estimate built from stated assumptions (shown under the calculator and in each guide). They are there to help you decide whether to ask for a survey. They are not an offer, and the only price that binds anyone is the written quote you receive from the installer after a survey.

Savings depend on your roof, your usage, your tariff and the weather, none of which we control. Payback periods are illustrative and not a guarantee of financial return.

Grants, VAT and finance

Statements about 0% VAT, the Smart Export Guarantee and grant schemes reflect our understanding of the rules on the date shown next to them. Schemes change. The VAT rate that applies to an installation is determined by the tax point of the installer’s invoice, not by anything on this site or by the payment of a deposit. We do not currently offer finance, and nothing on this site constitutes financial advice.

Using the site

You may read and share pages for personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy the site’s content, design or code for commercial purposes, scrape it, or use the enquiry form to send anything other than a genuine enquiry. We may change or remove any part of the site without notice.

Liability

We take care to keep the site accurate, but we do not guarantee it is error-free or always available. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from your use of the site or reliance on its content. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death, personal injury or fraud, or your statutory rights as a consumer.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
